The 2010 Reena Tribute Dinner

On Sunday, May 30th, 2010, The Reena Tribute Dinner honoured Keith and Sheila Alexander for a life-time of giving back to their community. Proceeds from the event went to help fund Reena’s day programs that benefit 800 children with developmental disabilities and their families.

In 1973, the Alexanders hosted a meeting to jump start fundraising for Reena’s first group home. They recognized that Reena held a vision of promise for people with developmental disabilities, one of the most vulnerable segments of our society, and that with community support; the organization would grow.

The room was filled with excitement amongst long time friends and new friends that came out to pay tribute to Reena and this year’s honourees, Keith and Sheila Alexander. Our most heartfelt thank you to Keith and Sheila for having worked so enthusiastically on this gala for Reena!

Attendees of the event enjoyed the ambience of Le Parc which was elegantly set up in Tiffany Blue and crystals. The teddy bear raffle was sold out within the first hour with the lucky winner walking away with a round trip donated by Porter Airlines. Guests enjoyed the heartfelt speeches paying tribute to both Reena and our Honourees, to the final musical performance by wonderful impersonators.
