Respite and Enrichment Programs

Reena’s Respite programs are growing mainly because the challenge of caring for someone with special needs is all consuming; there are no breaks, little time for other family members, and no time for one’s self. To many people Reena’s Respite & Enrichment programs are a veritable lifeline – providing much-needed time off that is so necessary to avert any crisis situations. The programs also provide new learning and social opportunities for those with special needs.

In addition, the Respite & Enrichment programs provide an opportunity for people in the community with special needs, and their caregivers, to connect with Reena, giving them a foundation of support that they can build on in the future.

The Goals of the Respite & Enrichment Programs are to:

Offer respite to families in need
Provide opportunity for growth and development for participants with developmental disabilities
Create a safe and secure environment for children, teens, and young adults with developmental disabilities where they can practice life and social skills and learn new ones
Promote community involvement through education, awareness, and acceptance
Foster dignity, individuality, and independence
Develop a sense of awareness of others
