KRG Supports After School Program

Patti Goldberg, President of KRG Children’s Charitable Foundation informed Reena recently that her Foundation was making a grant of $10,000 towards the After School Program at Reena. KRG Children’s Charitable Foundation is committed to enriching the lives and experience of children of all abilities. This marks a very significant investment in Reena’s Outreach programs and enables Reena to continue to offer the program to families in need.
Reena's After School Program provides the dual benefits of respite to caregiving families and enrichment opportunities for children with special needs. Running 1 to 4 days a week, children
and youth 7 to 12 and 13 to 21 years of age, participate in an 8 week structured
program that meets the needs of the children and youth with developmental
challenges, Autism and other related disorders. The program is offered Monday to
Thursday and runs from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. It includes a substantial
snack, made by the participants themselves, the
Snoezelen experience and a myriad of activities tailored to the specific age
group in a safe and nuturing environment which makes learning easier.
The time spent with Reena's professionals is also time that families have to recharge their batteries from the ongoing and significant stress of caregiving.
